Screening Technician

Job description

  • Provision of OH services for clients, mostly in the West Midlands, along with some clinics at our office in West Bromwich. There will be a requirement to travel further afield on occasion and this may involve an overnight stay.
  • Undertake screening activities at client sites, including Audiometry, Respiratory health, Tier 1 & 2 HAVS assessments, skin assessments and other types of medical evaluation. This list is not exhaustive.
  • 3 week structured induction programme, shadowing experienced practitioners in real life settings.
  • Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, some of which could be evening or night visits.
  • Must have previous screening technician experience.
  • Must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft products, with particular focus on Outlook, Word, Excel and SharePoint.
  • Must hold a manual driving licence.

Role

As an Occupational Health Advisor you will provide a range of OH services at client sites in the West Midlands and our clinic in West Bromwich. This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a fantastic team making a lasting impact to workers’ health and wellbeing.

Day to day

  • Health surveillance (also known as health screening) including core assessments of audiometry, spirometry, skin and hand transmitted vibration.
  • Occupational health referrals (absence management, fitness to work and return to work).
  • Vision testing for quality assurance and non-destructive testing (NDT) work.
  • Drug and alcohol testing.
  • Safety critical work assessments.
  • Musculoskeletal assessments
  • Management of physical and digital health records.
  • Home working where appropriate.

Requirements

  • Must hold a valid NMC PIN Number.
  • UK driving license.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft products, with particular focus on Outlook, Word, Excel and SharePoint.
  • The role will involve use of our OH management systems, so data entry and other simple database tasks are required.
  • Applicants should be aware that equipment such as spirometers and audiometers are also software based.

Schedule

  • Monday – Friday: 40 hours per week (inclusive of breaks).
  • Must be versatile in working shifts i.e., occasional night/evening shifts.

Salary

  • RN with over 2 years post registration experience and no OH qualification £31,950.
  • Nurses with an Occupational Health qualification, salary dependent on experience.
