Service delivery

One to one therapy sessions usually take place at our medical centre in West Bromwich where we have an in-house psychotherapy suite. Our Therapist initially completes 1 to 2 assessment sessions with the patient to determine the nature of the situation. On average, counselling requires 6 to 8 sessions. We recommend up to 12 sessions for more pronounced mental health distress and 8 sessions for EMDR. We also deliver group sessions for intervention therapy and stress management training, which can be delivered onsite at your place of work.

Treatments

We offer a variety of interventions that allow us to be flexible in response to all types of mental ill health. Our services are delivered by a highly qualified mental health professional who will collaborate with you to understand your needs and those of your employees. The aim is to help people recover as quickly as possible.

Counselling

Counselling is a type of structured talking therapy that helps people manage challenges in their life. This type of therapy is great for addressing specific problems that a person might be going through and can help them develop coping skills that support their mental health. Counselling tends to have a short-term focus which lends well to a work setting. Some examples of situations where counselling is beneficial is stress management, life crises and workplace conflict.

Bereavement therapy

Bereavement therapy helps people cope more effectively with a loss. This type of counselling tries to help people find a place for their loss, so they can continue with their life and eventually find acceptance. Therapists help patients understand the grieving process, resolve any areas of conflict and adjust to life with a new sense of self. This type of therapy is helpful for a wide range of situations like divorce, trauma, abuse, miscarriage and chronic illness.

EDMR

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a therapy mainly used to help people deal with distressing memories from traumatic events. During EMDR, a therapist helps the client recall these difficult memories while doing things like moving their eyes from side to side, tapping or listening to sounds. This back-and-forth activity is believed to help the brain deal with the memories and heal naturally.

Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapists use techniques like verbal repetition, guided relaxation and visualisation to help people rest into a dreamlike state, where they become more open to suggestion. The therapist then addresses and resolves the person’s negative thought patterns and behaviours. Hypnotherapy is great in situations where behavioural change can correct the problems the individual is going through.

Post Traumatic Event Debriefing

Most people will experience some kind of trauma during their lives, and many who do are able to overcome this trauma. However, a small minority develop psychological difficulties as a result of their experience, which requires assistance from a mental health professional. A Psychotherapist can provide one-to-one support or facilitate a group session when multiple people have been affected by an incident.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is a long-term treatment that uses verbal communication to understand the emotional and behavioural difficulties someone is going through. This method often delves into childhood experiences and unconscious thought patterns. It helps people cope better with challenges and gain insights into their feelings and behaviours.
