What is Emergency First Aid at Work Training?
EFAW is a one-day course designed for first aiders who work in low risk environments. The course teaches participants how to provide immediate life saving care for those suffering from an injury or illness.
Course content
This course covers the practical skills required by a first aider in the workplace, providing delegates with the confidence and knowledge to cope with first aid situations.
During the course, we teach you about:
- The role of a first aider.
- Managing an emergency.
- How to do a situation assessment.
- Recording incidents and actions.
- Preventing cross infection.
- Using first aid equipment
- Treating minor injuries (cuts, grazes, burns and scalds).
- CPR.
- Health and safety (first aid) regulations.
- Managing those who are unconscious (including seizure), wounded, bleeding, choking or in shock.
