What is Annual Resus +?

Annual Resus + is a short course that enables qualified first aiders to update their skills and knowledge during their first aid certificate validity period. The HSE strongly recommends that trained first aiders refresh their knowledge and update their skills annually.

 

Course content

The course covers existing, new and/or revised procedures. We teach participants to assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency and administer:

  • First aid to a casualty who is unconscious (including seizure).
  • First aid to a casualty who is wounded and bleeding.
  • First aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock.
  • An Automated External Defibrillator.
  • CPR.

 

Course dates

Courses run over three consecutive days. Our availability for 2026 is as follows:
