The importance of psychological wellbeing
Organisations are under constant pressure to reduce costs and improve productivity. One of the most effective ways to achieve this is to ensure the mental wellbeing of employees.
Recent research has found that mental health disorders are the most common work related ill health problem and are estimated to cost UK employers £26 billion each year (source: Occupational Medicine Journal 2015).
Psychological distress will lead to one in six employees experiencing depression, anxiety, sleep problems or unmanageable stress at some point in their working lives (source: MIND).
This can lead to repeated staff absences and consistent difficulty for individuals to work at their best. So, an investment in psychological wellbeing is really an investment in your organisation.
Who we are
Our services are delivered by highly qualified counselling and clinical psychologists who understand your needs, and those of your employees.
As well as extensive clinical experience, our psychologists have a first degree in psychology and professional postgraduate training in either counselling or clinical psychology, at Masters or Doctoral level.
These trainings are recognised by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and allow our psychologists to register with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
What we offer
Our psychologists can help with common everyday problems such as depression, anxiety, illness, disability and loss, and also with life crises, such as accidents, injuries, stress and trauma.
NB: This list is far from exhaustive. If you do not see your particular issue(s) here, please do not assume we cannot help you. Contact us so that we can discuss the best way forward.
Our aim is to help people recover as quickly as possible and we offer a variety of interventions that allow us to be flexible in response to presenting difficulties and we can work in a number of ways depending on the nature of your needs.
We offer a range of therapeutic interventions, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy; Solution Focused Therapy; Systemic Family Therapy; Mindfulness; Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprogramming (EMDR) and Motivational Interviewing, all tailored to meet specific needs.
One to one therapy sessions usually take place at our offices in West Bromwich. After an initial assessment, the psychologist will determine the number of sessions required, based on the individual concerned and the nature of their difficulties.
Group sessions, whether intervention therapy or stress management training, can be provided at West Bromwich or onsite at the client’s place of work.
